Gaise Baba Releases ‘God Is Cooking’ Album
Gaise Baba has officially unveiled God Is Cooking, a 13-track album that blends contemporary African sounds, Nigerian musical heritage and faith-filled messages.
The project features a mixture of energetic AfroGospel sounds, reflective songs and collaborations with notable gospel and Christian music artists. According to the album's official track listing, the project includes songs such as “Lenu,” “Show Workings,” “Oruko,” “No Turning Back II,” “Want to Grow,” “Yield,” “Smile For Joy,” “We Outside,” “Light of Africa,” “Coming Down,” “He's Not Done,” “Fire,” and “We Will Go.”
The album also features collaborations with artists including Greatman Takit, Lawrence Oyor, Nontokozo Mkhize, Cofi Boham and Kaestrings, giving the project a diverse musical identity.
Released in August 2026, God Is Cooking is more than just another gospel album. It brings together faith, African sounds, cultural identity and contemporary music in a way that reflects Gaise Baba's unique approach to AfroGospel.
Why ‘God Is Cooking’ Is Getting Attention
One of the major strengths of Gaise Baba's new project is its ability to connect gospel music with contemporary African music. The project demonstrates how Christian messages can be presented through modern sounds while still maintaining a strong spiritual foundation.
The album also explores Nigerian musical heritage and pays attention to the sounds and artists that have influenced the country's music culture. This combination of faith, culture and modern production makes the project appealing to both gospel music lovers and listeners who enjoy Afrobeat and AfroGospel.
Nathaniel Bassey Continues His Worship Music Run
While Gaise Baba brings an AfroGospel flavour to the current gospel music conversation, Nathaniel Bassey continues to strengthen the worship side of Nigerian Christian music.
Nathaniel Bassey's 2026 music catalogue includes “The Glory of His Presence,” a worship project released in January 2026. His official website describes the project as an invitation to experience God's presence, while the project is available across major digital music platforms.
He also released “Promise Keeper” with Mercy Chinwo in July 2026. Apple Music lists Promise Keeper as Nathaniel Bassey's latest release, while streaming platforms continue to feature the song among his current music.
Nathaniel Bassey's music has continued to appeal to listeners who enjoy deep worship, prayer music, gospel praise, Christian meditation and songs that create an atmosphere of worship.
AfroGospel Meets Deep Worship
What makes this moment particularly exciting for gospel music fans is the contrast between the two musical approaches.
Gaise Baba represents the growing AfroGospel movement, using contemporary African rhythms, catchy melodies and faith-based lyrics to communicate Christian messages to a new generation.
Nathaniel Bassey, on the other hand, is known for creating worship music that encourages prayer, praise and personal encounters with God.
Together, their current music offerings demonstrate the incredible diversity within the Nigerian gospel music industry.

The Growth of Nigerian AfroGospel
The continued success of artists like Gaise Baba shows how quickly AfroGospel is evolving. Nigerian Christian artists are increasingly experimenting with Afrobeats, African percussion, hip-hop, contemporary worship and other sounds while keeping faith and Christian messages at the centre of their music.
This evolution is helping Nigerian gospel music reach younger audiences and listeners around the world. It also demonstrates that gospel music does not have to sound a certain way to carry a powerful message.
Why These Releases Matter to Gospel Music Fans
Music can serve different purposes. Sometimes we need a song that makes us dance and celebrate God's goodness. Other times, we need a worship song that helps us pray, reflect and reconnect with God.
That is why the current wave of Nigerian gospel releases is so exciting. From AfroGospel to deep worship, listeners have more choices than ever before.
Gaise Baba's God Is Cooking brings energy, creativity and contemporary African flavour, while Nathaniel Bassey's worship music continues to provide an atmosphere for prayer and spiritual reflection.
